Our Philosophy

How GingerScrubs started...

For starters, "HELLO!"My name is Lisa Best...nickname, "Ginger" for my Auburn red hair & freckles, so of course, I had to name my product "GingerScrubs"!
Just let me start by saying, I have been hesitant about any scrub or productI put on my face and body. I have had skin issues for many years, from acne to Rosacea and sensitive skin. Most body scrubs I've tried, felt heavy on my skin and to much fragrance. Usually within the hour of using, I was scratching and/or breaking out...not kewl! But, about a year ago, a friend gave me a homemade sugar scrub. Honestly, it sat in my tub for a while before I ever tried it...but I did. I am so glad I did! I fell in love with it. It left my skin soft and feeling good, no itching. Then, I got the idea!
I started researching sugar scrubs and finding different recipes on how to make them. I decided to give it a try. I took a little of this recipe and a little of that recipe and tried and tweaked till I made something I was happy with...Introducing, GingerScrubs!
I made some for my fiance and asked him to try. And he also hesitated trying it, but did. He told me after 2 uses, this was the best scrub he has used on his face. And he has used scrubs for men from "high-end" department stores. With his help, we have tweaked my GingerScrub to create, what we feel, is a wonderful product, especially for women or men who have issues with ingrown hair, shaving bumps, and/or acne.
My scrub is a blend of brown sugar, white sugar, olive oil, a blend of natural and essential oils. Sugar is a great exfoliant for skin. Brown sugar is more fine than white so it is softer for the skin and naturally hydrates skin. White sugar is more coarse so it is a stronger exfoliant and with the right blend together, they leave your skin so soft, silky, and refreshed. And adding the essential oil smells so nice (Even Chocolate, YUM).
I also make a lip scrub to keep those puckers soft and ready to kiss or just tease!
I feel every woman, everyone, deserves to have beautiful, soft, wanting to be touched skin, no matter the skin issue you may have.

Lisa "Ginger" Best
